The US Department of Commerce announced that it would put China’s state-owned nuclear power company on the list of companies banned from dealing with US companies.
China General Nuclear Power Group is blacklisted by the US
The ministry said China General Nuclear Power Group and three joint ventures were blacklisted on Aug. 14, citing the company’s adoption of US technology and then using it for military purposes.
Earlier, the US government put technology giant Huawei and China’s supercomputing companies on the list, citing that these companies threaten national security.
On August 13, the US announced it would postpone the increase in additional taxes on some imports from China.
However, the US insists that there will be a tough stance with Chinese companies that want to get American technology in the context of China heading to become a high-tech powerhouse.
